I have been teaching singing, piano and theory for almost twenty years to a variety of students of all ages. Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that be wanting to play your favourite song on the piano or get that Grade 8 distinction, with an emphasis on kindness and patience but rooted in technique and consistency.
Successful students have gained entry to some of the major classical singing and musical theatre courses in the UK such as Trinity Laban, LIPA, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, UWS and Oxford Universities to study music. Younger students have accepted places at Kelvin College, Glasgow Clyde College, Cardonald College for Further education study and also to the Dance School of Scotland Musical Theatre course, Douglas Academy, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Conservatoire, NYCOS and Scottish Opera Young Company.
In addition to experience teaching private students, I teach regularly at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Conservatoire and have taught on NYCOS courses. I was a graded practical examiner for ABRSM and am now a full time instructor in voice and piano at Glasgow City Council so have a comprehensive understanding of SQA and ABRSM syllabus requirements and assessment criteria. I also have significant experience teaching young people with additional support needs such as visually impaired ,autistic, dyslexic and dyspraxic students.
